Sunrise.

Sun Clock also includes a sky view. (You can evaluate the sky view during the 30 day demo period but it is not included in the free version of Sun Clock.

Click on the image of the moon at the centre of the analogue clock to open the sky view.

The view is taken from the latitude and longitude of the home location that you have selected for Sun Clock. An "Advance time" dial moves the view through the day to sunset. The constellations appear and move through the night sky. You can track the positions of the sun, moon and planets.

Two dials enable you to pan around the sky and to zoom in to see it in greater detail.

The daytime sky shows the path of the sun throughout the year.

A list of all the astronomical features, such as constellations and planets, currently above the horizon is shown to the left of the sky view. When you click on an item in the list, the sky view will shift to be centred on the selected feature. Alternatively star gazers can help themselves to navigate the real sky by locating landmarks on the horizon by entering their compass bearings, the landmarks will then be displayed on the horizon of the sky view.

A detail of the night sky.

The movement of the "Earth shadow" allows you to anticipate when the moon will be eclipsed by the shadow of the earth. Sky view also replicates partial and full solar eclipses - as well as the many near misses!
